Student Leadership

Cultivating student leadership at Greenfield is a critical part of our practice for both Primary and Secondary students. We ensure that there are leadership opportunities available for students at all grade levels, fostering a culture of empowerment and growth across the school community.

Head Boy and Head Girl

The Head Boy and Head Girl positions hold the highest prestige among our student leadership roles at Greenfield. They embody the core values of GIS through their leadership, integrity, and commitment. As the primary representatives of the student body, Head Boy and Head Girl undertake a diverse range of responsibilities to ensure that student voices are active and heard. They serve as ambassadors for the student body and chair the Student Council.

Student Council

At Greenfield, we have Primary and Secondary Student Councils. These councils provide students with opportunities for collaboration with peers, teachers, and community members to raise awareness and support the student body in addressing a variety of issues. In addition to proposing and leading their own projects, council members also support the projects of others.

House Captains

Our House system is central to promoting students’ sense of belonging, and House Captains have responsibility for organising House events and being a point of contact for students in their House. Their duties include setting up a calendar of events across different subjects, ensuring that the students are aware of the House events, and helping with the running assemblies associated with the House system.

Sports Leaders

Sports Captains act as liaisons between students and the Sports Director. They play a pivotal role in fostering and nurturing a strong sporting spirit within the school. Their responsibilities encompass cultivating and sustaining enthusiasm for sports and assisting House Captains in developing House spirit.

Wellbeing Captains

Wellbeing Captains work closely with the Head of Wellbeing to introduce wellbeing initiatives. They plan and organise wellbeing activities and events to support and develop student wellbeing. Wellbeing Captains regularly meet with the Student Council to discuss their ideas and how to promote them.

Performing Arts Captains

Performing Arts Captains work closely with the Head of Performing Arts. They plan and organise arts activities and events, encouraging students to actively participate. Performing Arts Captains regularly meet with the Student Council to discuss their ideas and how to promote them.

Inclusion Captains

Inclusion Captains work closely with the Head of Inclusion and the Inclusion team to introduce inclusion initiatives. They plan and organise activities to raise awareness of Inclusion support and develop student wellbeing. Inclusion Captains regularly meet with the Student Council to discuss their ideas.

Sustainability Captains

Sustainability Captains play a crucial role in fostering environmental consciousness and action within their academic communities. They often initiate and organize various educational events, workshops, and campaigns aimed at promoting sustainable practices and raising awareness about pressing environmental issues. Additionally, they collaborate with campus administration and local organizations to implement eco-friendly policies and practices, such as recycling programs, energy conservation initiatives, and sustainable transportation options. Through their advocacy and grassroots efforts, these leaders inspire fellow students to adopt sustainable lifestyles and contribute to building a greener and more resilient future for their campus and beyond.
